Apprenticing with Rachel Rodi who assisted Laurel True and True Mosaics Studio. I helped with the brick-colored tile pieces for this work commissioned by the Oakland Fire Departments. This is one of a series of murals at the fire houses.
Look at the detail Rachel was able to get on the lettering. She stayed true to the font using hire-fire tile. This is no easy feat.I love the way this looks and can't wait to see it grouted and installed.
